1.) Tiger Japenese Imports. Anyone have any experience with them? Good/bad?
2.) What ecu to use for a H22A?
3.) Any thoughts on a H22A out of a 92-95 prelude swap?
4.) Any weak spots on teh H22A?

5.) Can any power be had out of the F22Bx (I think)?
6.) Is there any mini-me style headswaps for teh F22's?
7.) Is it even worth building and doing the work to drop it into a CRX?

Thanks, I'm working on doing the research, just thought it's easier to post this first.
Oh, and the engine he's looking at is this one:
Tiger Japanese Auto Parts LTD - H22A OBD1 DOHC VTEC Engine Automatic Transmission 92-95
ok here we go, lets see if I can help ya out a bit....

1. I've heard mixed opinions about tiger japaneses imports

2. The P13 is the stock ecu for the h22a... though a P28(civic ex), P72(intera gsr), or a P30 (b16 civic del sol) will all work.

3. an H22a out of a 92-95 Prelude would be your best bet because it is an obd1 motor, after 97 they are obd2... and not really worth the hassle of converting your OBD system

4. The only "weak" spot on the H22 would have to be the FRM sleeves, but thats only considered a weak spot if your intending on adding boost to the motor, the FRM sleeves typically only hold about 8 pounds of boost before they crack. I'm sure some people on here have put more boost into one with the proper tuning, but it's not recommended. Also in order to use aftermarket pistons you either have to use the Mahle Gold pistons... or resleeve your block.

5. Plenty of power can be had out of an F series block, add a turbo on it and ZOOOM! The F series blocks looove boost because they have a lower compression and cast iron sleeves that are said to hold 20+ lbs. of boost safely. If you decide to go all motor, check out www.bisimotor.com
He currently holds many world records for the all motor/pro stock naturaly aspirated SOHC Honda engine (F22a)

6. Yes, the F22a4 has a VTEC head, and it can safely be installed onto an F22a1 block... there fore being a simple mini-me swap. Also, with a little bit of work, an H22a head can be installed to a F22a block. All you have to do is block two oil return lines on the head, fashion an H22 water pump gear onto an F22 water pump housing, and get an H22 timing belt. I have done all the custom work to build the illusive "G22 Vtec" but I havent put it into a car yet. Got distracted by my new build =P

7. "Is it even worth building and doing the work to drop it into a CRX?"
If your talking of putting the H22 into the CRX then HELLS YES!!! That would be one insanely fast Rex and you would be kicking alot of ass around town and on the track... if you could get it to keep traction that is. If your talking of putting the F22 into a CRX, then your still talking about a 120hp motor 135 ft. lbs. of torque into a car that typically only comes with a D series motor putting out about 100 hp. or so.... so yeah it would still be nasty.

Hope this helps with your build my friend.
