Default Lowering my 96 shortbed Stumped?

Hey guys, I'm currently in the process of lowering my girlfriend's truck. It's a 96 Gmc Sierra Shortbed v6. I got a deal on a neighbor's lowering kit. It's a Western Chassis 3" front (springs) and 5" rear (flip kit) and I am having problems with the springs in the front. A couple days ago I swapped the springs out and dropped the truck down on it's tires and I didn't notice any difference. Hmmm... So I asked the kid that I got the kit from (it was brand new when I got it) and he said it must not be lines up in the indent or perch. So I said okay, I just got done taking one side off and turning the spring till it dropped into the indention on the bottom and still no difference. I know there is no difference because I only did one side (other side is still stock as of now) and they are measuring out the same. I also drove it around a little to see if it would settle and nothing... Blah pissing me off. So if any of you guys have any ideas please don't hesitate to shoot me some info. Thanks for your time guys.
