Japanese emissions laws mandate engine replacemnt at 30,000 miles, so complete take-outs imported from japan are a popular option here in the US. generally The japanese domestic market (JDM) engines have more power than US varients due to higher compression nd a bigger cam. Type R engines, if offers for you engine series, are invariably better than the US version. Searching the web for JDM Engines turns up thousands o hit. If youve ever woundered why every JDM motor you see says LESS than 30k miles !! on it !! that things not even broken in yet !!
