Yes skylines were imported outside Japan! They were availbile for sale In Australia I know for sure (know a few people there who have told me this), they were also availible in most asain countries, my girl's dad bought a 82 skyrine new in Tiawan before they moved to the US. Also Datsuns althought not availbe in Japan were availible in Australia so it is very possible that it is a true Datsun Skyline.
