Just wanna gloat a little about Vipers here. Paul Mumford (remember that name) won the SCCA Pro Racing Speed World Challenge GT today at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in a factory built (but not factory sponsored) Viper Competition Coupe race car.

In the previous race at Road America Mumford came from 23rd to finish 3rd. Three other Comp Coupe Vipers were positioned to finish in the top ten until a Vette took them all out with three laps to go.
For those who don't know what a Viper Competition Coupe is you can read about it here...

In summary, it's a Dodge built 540hp racecar. Slated to build 150 total for a cost of less than $150K each - a great deal when you look at the competition it's whooping up on.
On a related note, I'll be at Sebring Saturday Sept 13 if anyone wants to ride along for a few laps. And there will be a Viper Comp Coupe there in the flesh if you would like to see one up close.
