Last time I replaced my helmet I was looking at them since I end up at 180 mph on some tracks and my car is open top, it's scary when rocks and things hit you in the helmet at those speeds when you're following someone close, I always wonder how strong the shield really is.
Schuberth's are $$$$$$$$. I think an F1 spec RF1.7 is something like $8-9k USD. If you want one you have to get it custom made I believe. The main issue is are they snell approved (could be a reason why you cant find them states side)?
I think Bell may also make helmets for F1/open wheel/open cockpit cars.
