Is your Civic a VX? The new highway EPA on a '93 Civic VX is either 45 or 49. (with no clear indication of what the difference is between the two specs... gotta love unclear data) I'd give you the benefit of the doubt and call it 45... which means you're close, but still below EPA. Still not bad, though!
You should be able to see 50 mpg easily with that car, just takes a little dedication to the cause.
my civic is a cx which comes with a 1.5, but i have a ex motor which is a 1.6 the difference is the vx came without ac it was the most economic of all civics.. i have the 1.6 but no ac, no ps, and a vx crank pulley with the ac rib delete.. next time i take a trip(soon) ill record all my exact data and post it.. and about the 10gallons.. it was i think a bit more like 10.2 or .3, i didnt know it made that big of a difference so im going to data log everything next trip..
