yea, i hate that bitch too heheh...

seriously, it just catches vapor from the gas tank and purges them into your intake when the computer thinks its the right time (done w/ solenoids and diaphragms). You can basically pull ALL that stuff off, and cap the inlet where the purge line goes from the canister to your intake tube. and then put a breather filter on the vent line that comes from the tank and enters the charcoal cannister.

i did this on my supra and the DSM... you get a whif of raw fuel once in a while... but when its 93 octane... you dont complain you do smell it when you are refueling at the Petrol station... because the gas entering the tank displaces the air inside it and gets pushed out the ventline... then you would get a BIG whiff of 93... but no liquid leaks.
