Owning a dsm you will learn more about it than you really would like to know. I have owned my car for 1 year and 8 months now and know a lot about it. When I bought my car I knew NOTHING about it at all(or any car). Now I know all of this useless information that I will probably never apply to anything else than fixing my car.
Sometimes I think the best mechanics are the ones that just have acquired knowledge from working on their own cars.
I wish the best of luck for you and make sure that’s what you want to spend you life doing. Do you want to spend your days finding out why the ABS light is on, a vacuum leak...sometimes-stupid stuff that you really don't want to deal with.
And if not, you’re young. I'm 21 and don't have much figured out about my life. All I know is that I don't want to be stuck working for the man.
