Well, besides telling you that both bikes are too big for you (which most riders will tell you), I would say the R1. If I were you, and I could afford the R1, I would go with that. The R1 has less miles, and unless its been wrecked, it should not give you any mechanical problems.
Plus the R1 is lighter, and I think, it handles better. In Cycle World Online, they do yearly test and comparisons on sport bikes, and the R1 almost always comes on top. I believe it did in 98.
