Buy a 600 for cheap or offer that dude 500 bucks for that 500r but a grand, no way. my first bike was a 2000 R1, don't disrespect the fact that you can do 50-100mph with a twist of the throttle and don't ever get so comfortable that you stop paying complete attention to everything around you and you will make it a lot longer without laying your bike down. As for other people, you can only control so much.
