I had good luck with tires/prices from Tire Mania, South West corner 301 and Highway 60. I measured a lot of tires and checked a lot of tread patterns before deciding what to mount on my BMW rims.
Most of the computer lookups have what the mfg "says" is tread width, but my own ruler is far more precise.....most computer lookups can quote you based on a totally stock car with a totally stock suspension with totally stock tires...........if you stray from that, they don't know some things.
I have measured tires for years for different things and
My observation is that more expensive tires have wider tread
and lower profile than cheaper tires, regardless of what it says
on the tire sidewall.
1.Educate yourself. Hit tirerack.com. 2.Pick a tread that you like,
and 3.Start driving around to dealers with a tape measure.
I sometimes do alignments when I install suspension pieces for people. If a person regularly trashes their alignment, the best deal is from one of those
"will realign it for life" places.-Bob
