personally, I have never had it happen, but I've also never kept on of those style filters for more than a few months...
Heard of it happening way too many times...
Seems like it isn't that bad of a filter for an occationally driven car, as in show style cars and/or track cars. Seems like the change in temp. from a daily driven car is what does them in...
