with the teams already have spent millions on making it work it would be a bigger mistake to scrap it totaly. It would be like making the V10's last two race weekends and the next year switching to V8's.
you could say that if everyone had spent that money and got it to work. but as of now, its better for the whole to cut your losses and move on.
