Its really all up to the person building the car, a hydro tranny has a smoother shift but is a little more expensive and their is no adjustment for the clutch pedal, a cable tranny is a little more rough in the shift but can work just as good,ive used both and would use either one, it also depends on the car its going in, if your car is origionally a cable tranny car then youll need to buy the hydro to cable conversion. You can get any part for both trannys as long as you have the money to spend, and i have to disagree with got Boost, no offense but anything can go wrong with a manual tranny,cable or hydro, and its not just the cable thats bad, anything can brake or go bad, diffs-clutches-pilot bearings-flywheels,ect any of these could brake or go bad in a cable or hydro its not just the cables that go bad---
