D16's usually put down better torque numbers than the B swap. This partially has to do with the long stroke, which is bad for someone going N/A and wanting high revs. All in all, a stock D series is actually better fit for boost than a B series. A D16Y8 has a HIGHER lift cam with LESS overlap and lower compression than a B16 or B18.
