You can check on hose/parts prices by calling the A-Parts store yourself.
A quart of fluid is close to $8. It will take at least that amount to get the crud out of the lines and out of the master cylinder.
I would have preferred to replace both hoses, so that as they deteriorate, they do it at about the same rate. It doesn't take that much longer to
replace both hoses and you had the old fluid bled out of the lines as part of a single hose replacement anyway.
You might look at the other hose.....maybe they chewed on it because a small crack was seeping fluid.....and it tasted good....
