Oddly enough, Henry Ford is often credited with manufacturing the first automobile, yet he was not. He was simply the first one to actually put them onto an assembly line. He was also the one who came up with the concept of "an honest days pay for an honest days work".
Francois Duryea(sp?) was the first person to make an "automobile".
Also of note...Henry Ford also FAILED a few times before becoming successful with the Ford Motor Company. One of the companies he also started , yet sold his shares to was one which is about to go under....You might know of it...It's called "General Motors". Ever heard of it?

Weird, but true.....I'll have to dig out my Ford book again.
