You will have to find a place for the ballast boxes and whatnot, but basically, they are plug and play. Some power and ground wires have to be run, but there should be no splicing of the factory wires in a good and properly ordered kit. Most of the kits are going to have the same bulb and ballast manufacturer, so just browse a bit on the internet to find a decent one. Also note, if it looks too good to be true (ie a really cheap price), it probably is. El cheapo HID kits will not last you very long. Look for Phillips bulbs and ballast. Generic kits will be a waste of money and burn out quickly.
Once you get them in, try to refrain from using the "flash to pass" thing as much as possible when the headlights are off. It will kill the life of the bulb even though it is almost strobe like and great for getting peoples attention. Most reputable manufacturers will tell you the same thing I am telling you, I hope you can find something decent out there.
Another idea for finding a good kit would be to either do a search on
www.supraforums.com or
www.honda-tech.com as they all are HID freaks.
Xenon is what is in the true HID bulbs. Alot of manufacturers will put that on their regular bulbs hoping to help people spend 100 bucks on a set of bulbs that is going to melt your wiring harness.
