sorry bout the lack of responses. I just picked up an 87 a few weeks ago for a grand. It is not in the condition yours appears to be in. I think 2 would be worth it as long as the car feels good when you drive it. I would check the fluids, i know it sounds basic but you'd be suprised how many people dont top off when trying to sell something they wanna get rid of. look at the radiator hoses, thermostat housing, water pump. The rotaries have issues with overheating, so id check to see if these parts look new, messed up, or normal wear and tear. The guy your dealing with prob kept it up a bit better than mines PO, but you wanna make sure. when you turn it on, watch how long it takes to warm up, watch the idle and the water temp/oil pressure. Make a note of how much these change while your driving it so you know what to expect. Since ive had mine the oil pressure stay up a lot and the water temp never gets to 1/4. Also look for rust under the car, wheel wells, back glass, and spare tire area. Just general stuff. If you go to rx7club.com, there's a bunch of guys and faqs and DIY stuff. Its an awesome site for getting help with the 7
