Now before I run to my credit union and take out a loan, I was wondering if the cost of maintaining/repairing this car is a lot ( I currently drive a 1990 300zx and figured it can't be much more than that hehe).

05 STi is a great car, and I prefer the blobeyes... :flamesuit:
Make sure to take it to a SUBARU mechanic and look for grinding in any of the gears... 60k is a decent mileage and, if it's immaculate, that's a great car for the money.
Maintenance is great if you leave it alone, but if you mod, you're going to want to do your homework and get it right the first time. Doing it right will not lessen (and sometimes improve) the reliability of your car.
Your biggest expense will be Subaru mania, the clinical problem that every Subaru owner develops. Highly contagious
Also, look out for that mod bug, she bites hard.
edit: keep good tires on it, avoid trees.
