Dollar vs dollar,.. yes,. .the 5.0 will make more power. I find it humorous when I read guys putting forged internals into a stock block,.. be it a 347 or just a 306. Whats the point? The stock crank and rods will hold enough power to split the block. Its a waste of money IMO.

I havent kept up with it,.. but I know the 2v 4.6 motors dominated the 05 - 06 seasons vs the 5.0 motors,. even against their own 4v motors. IIRC the 07 season went to a 4v motor.

I think you just agreed with him.... Please show me a "stock" 96 or newer 4.6 long block making 360 rwhp NA. I haven't found one that is doing it NA yet.....I have found dozens that do it with the help of a supercharger...but none that do it NA yet...At least not stock.

Dollar for dollar is what 302stroker was saying. Compare apples to apples. The 4.6 is smaller, but of different design. If you put $1000 into a stock 4.6, and then put $1000 into a stock 5.0, the 5.0 will make more hp. Now, if you take a 4.6 and a 5.0 with the same hp (or at least very close) and run them over and over, the 4.6 will last longer than the 5.0. Also, it is MY opinion, that the 4.6 runs smoother than the 5.0. But I LOVE my 5.0's. I understand them, and I know how to make them make decent power. The 4.6...Well, toss a new computer at it, and poof...you get instant hp...Now, why is that? I think that it's all about the engine management and A/F ratios combined with timing....None of which can be done manually.....Another reason why I like carbed 5.0's vs. FI 5.0's. But that's another story.

I know the 4.6 stock in the mustangs makes about 300 hp. But is it 300 rwhp? Or is it at the back of the motor? Well.......I think we all know the answer to that one.
