Using nothing but stock long blocks,.. the only variables being bolt ons, cams and exhaust,.. the 4.6 will make more power then the 5.0. Thats already been done and is a moot point. Show me a stock 85 - 95 long block 5.0 making 360 rwhp NA?
Dollar vs dollar,.. yes,. .the 5.0 will make more power. I find it humorous when I read guys putting forged internals into a stock block,.. be it a 347 or just a 306. Whats the point? The stock crank and rods will hold enough power to split the block. Its a waste of money IMO.
I havent kept up with it,.. but I know the 2v 4.6 motors dominated the 05 - 06 seasons vs the 5.0 motors,. even against their own 4v motors. IIRC the 07 season went to a 4v motor.
