Mild detonation would be the only thing I can think of.

I had a 96 camaro back in high school with the 3.4 v6 in it. I dont know what exactly happened. It didnt seem like it was running bad and then one day it the entire car shook driving down the road and when I stopped it stopped running.

Got it home and it turned out I had actually broken the crank in two pieces.
