the labor to disassemble, cryo and reassemble will be astronomical. cryo treatments are nto cheap. i dont think youre tranny is the weakest link in this case. im assuming you do not have the factory turbo model, but rather the stock protoge with a kit. the block, being cast iron is a great block. the pistons and rods on the other hand, being factory mazda, are weak. now if it is the turbo model, you have alittle bit more chance of surviving, but at 13psi, that turbo is going to put out fire for air temps. i suggest running a nice t3/t4 combo with lower boost and good, spot on tuning. but even with a perfect tune, cylindr pressures are cylinder pressures and the internal will give way no matter what once their horsepower limit is achieved.
