No, the innovation lies in that until the SRT-4's 230 HP motor was unveiled the performance benchmark was Honda's, by comparison, anemic 160HP 4 banger.
The fact that Dodge milked so much power out of the 2.4 liter econo-motor was staggering and innovative.
