Meah...I already called him out..He declined. I'm done.
As for a full face vs. half helemt....Well...Yes, I KNOW that MOST crashes involve hitting the chin area. I also know that MOST of the time, when you crash on a motorcycle, that is the least of your worries. I would be willing to bet that when I was younger, had I jumped onto a GSXR 1000, I would be dead by now. Full face helmet or not. Full gear or not.
I ride for personal enjoyment....Not to be "cool" or show off my bike or any other reason....Just to enjoy myself. So when I dress, I dress for the ride. I wear jeans, steel toed boots, short sleeved shirt, my leather jacket, and my half helmet. If it's chilly out, I might wear my leather gloves also. Ride defensivly and realise that in a crash, the biker always looses. I'm not dressing for a fashion statement....I'm dressing for functionality. It does no good for me to be fatigued by the buffeting of a full face helmet. Especially since when I go out just riding, I may be out for 4 hours or more....Being fatigued is almost as bad as being drunk when riding. Also, the basic positioning on the bike is a factor in the amount of buffeting with a full face helmet. On the sport bikes when you are bent over the tank, you get less buffeting than when you are seated upright on a streetbike. To each their own. I prefer my half helmet.....Especially since I've ridden with both.
