Hmmmm... I wrapped one of my old headers with some of that DEI heat wrap and it fell apart after 6 months... I even wet it before I applied it so it would wrap extra tight. I didn't spray it with silicone though. Let me know how it holds up.
I never wet the stuff unless I know it's gonna sit around for a while. The silicone really helps out if you soak the crap out of it. I'm trying to find the clear stuff, all I have is black and I don't want it everywhere and on everything.
