i understand the swaps are expensive as hell...i was gonna do one on this until i repoed the VW from the ex, and that shit was like deffinatly around 7 or 8 k just to do the swap right. so i realize they got a lot of money into them too, and i understand what ur saying with the reliability issue. you can deffinatly say a factory motor with bolt ons will last longer than a turbo built car...there is no doubt about that one. but come on! alotta power outta the small motor is a good thing right? haha!
