I've researched and end up with awesome Vortech charger simp-
licity at it's best !! A big Plus & ez on the wallet and no turbo timer is needed.:
uh ez on the wallet sure!! if 4-5k is considered ez on the wallet. And a turbo setup is definately cheaper even with boost controller and all the high end fancy add ons.

And no turbo timer wtf. the vortech install is specific about running oil lines, which means the compressor shaft is using the oil to cool and lubricate (just like on a turbo) and if you think that the oil in the sc is not as hot as that on a turbo (well of a few degrees due to heat soak but its still f***ing HOT) then go smoke the same ish you were on when you decided to buy a vw.

that being said we all know hot oil in a turbo or the vortech sc ( which is just a belt driven turbo) will break down and when not shut down properly (either idling while you wait in the car or with a timer) will result in coking and the same oil starvation that happens in an exhaust driven turbo will happen in a belt driven one as well.

I have not seen a vortech rebuild kit readily available and would hate to see the price. please don't race that thing next to a nice car, I would hate to see a good car ( the other persons not the vw ) wrecked when you loose control after your engine ingests the parts from your recently blown compressor.

as for final power I'll take the turbo over the sc any day

your keep it simple statement is true K.I.S.S. Keep It Simple Stupid....... well you did.... Keep It Simple...STUPID.

I think da truth was wanting an informed opinion on the subject not whatever the hell you have.

Do yourself a favor get a timer, Apexi makes one that actual is advertised as a timer for na and turbo vehicles... I don't think they will mind if you put it on your vortech vw as long as you hide it real good

I will admit there are 2 things vw has that is cool 1 the flip out ignition key and the stock blue gauge lighting. other than that you paid too much for the car.
