main difference in z31 ecus are as follows:
Injector Impedence:
84-87(all) low impedence injector drivers
88-89(all) high impedence injector drivers
O2 Sensor:
1984-1985; 1987-1989 NA: Zirconia
1986 NA & Turbo: Titania
1987-1989 Turbo: Titania
Turbo/NA ECU Difference:
Knock Sensor input, which is arguable in it's effectiveness.
Lots of folks do NA-> Turbo conversions on Z31's and don't use the stock knock sensor (as in they don't swap ECU's). All you really need is the motor, the proper ECU for the injectors/O2 sensor you have and a tune.
