I'm lookin' into buying a '99 3.28i (e46 Sedan). The only problem is that the computer that controls the odometer, speedometer, and I think the warning lights isn't functioning. Questions:

1. What is the proper name of this part? Is it just the on-board computer?

2. How much does it typically cost to repair it (if it needs repairing, and wasn't just disconnected)? It's manual trans.
