Boostin'Xr4. You're right. A lot of dirt, rust on the rings which made them useless, crank turned, crank still needed polished, tangs faced wrong, different rods, different rod bolts, etc.
Yup. It sounds like an inexperienced engine builder did a quick rebuild and cut alot of corners because he didn't know any better. Then, once his "fresh" engine was fired up, he realized it was knocking, so he pulled it and most likely got a known-to-be-good engine or got it professionally rebuilt because he now knows he isn't experienced enough to do the rebuild himself.
Been there, bought that.
Never again. I hear the engine run, or you cut me a CHEAP deal.
