Mustangs and f bodys use them thanks to there solid axles which twist the car under load. 240's IRS dosnt have the same problem. Anyone with coil-overs might notice the fact that the car will come off the ground almost instantly if taking an incline at an angle. If the car has so much flex that would be a problem.
If you want to reinforce anything do fender braces, thats the biggest weak spot of the car.
The drivetrain layout isnt even close to why they are used. Fab an IRS into an F body, or take a newer cobra with its IRS, and its still going to benefit from subframe connectors. It is to eliminate body flex, for better cornering, braking, and making the vehicle more consistent when launching. 240's are unibody, and can benefit from chassis bracing, if you arent driving hard enough to be able to benefit from them, thats fine, but dont go stating they are useless.
