Burning oil on cold starts is a bit normal and stops when it reaches temp may be a cause of thermal expansion.Run a compression & leak down test to determine if there is any serious problem other than that just change the oil. The engine is fine. It was built by import builders in CA and it has Golden Eagle Sleeves. I really doubt anything is wrong with the block. I am thinking it is the turbo. I am going to go full synthetic and see what happens. I am going to replace the turbo and exhaust manafold anyway next month.
Cronic, thanks for the info. I check my oil levels every morning before I start it up. How hard is it to replace the valve stem seals? How much do the parts cost?
