And they are FAR too expensive for what you get.

I can comment on these because I actually had a set on the Protege about 4 years ago.

These tires don't grip for crap. They are quite similar to the Nittos in tread compound, something quite close to all seasons. They are relatively loud at the limit, and the limit comes quick. What they are, is predictable. But they don't have half the traction of the ES100s and even the 712s have better performance. They did last a long time, but that lends itself directly to the fact that they suck as performance tires.

Durable? sure
Traction? where?
Previously I had Kuhmo 712's. That is what i'm basing my thoughts on the FZ4's on. I respect what your saying and I don't know about everyother tire your talking about because I have not personally used them. I'm just stating what I thought about the tire myself. IMO the fz4's are far better than my old 712's on wet and dry surfaces. At the track all I did was spin on the 712's and the kuhmo's seem to grab a hell of a lot quicker. I ended up getting the FZ4's for the exact same price as the kuhmo's so I decided to test them out. I'm not trying to promote Toyo i'm just stating what i've experienced myself.
