insurance much cheaper? no, me and 97blkz, both work for progressive insurance. my car is in the top 5 cars stolen the US. parts are more expensive to replace= insurance is usually about the same. because your car is classified as a sports car. a brand new mustang gt cost less that a brand new accord.

the four main rating on a car are:
liability: how much damage your car will do to another car.
comp: theft rating
collision: how much are parts to replace, how easily is it damaged.
injury: how safe is the vehicle.

actually, since im at work i just added a 2003 accord and a 2003 mustang GT to a random policy. the accord was a $219 increase and the mustang GT was a $202 increase.

this will give you more of an idea:
liability: GT=7, accord=9
comp: GT=9, accord=11
collision: GT=12, accord=12
injury: GT=8, accord=14

the accord is higher rated.

the reason the accord costs(from the dealer) more is because its more of a luxury vehicle than a mustang.
