Hey all,
I have a 1991 Twin Turbo for sale. It's in pretty great condition with only 117k miles. It is a two owner car and has never been wrecked, so it's a clean title. It has
NEVER been modified and remains, to this day, 100% stock. The first owner was a doctor who kept great care of her. My friend bought it from him (I was there for the purchase) for 11,000 a few years ago. My friend has owned it since and then sold it to me when he joined the Navy and was shipped out last month.
The Bad:
- I believe the car has a small exhaust leak, most likely due to the fact it's still 100% stock and original.
- My friend cracked the front bumper pretty good. I have repaired it and it came out decently well. I had to repaint the bottom portion of the fascia since the original paint was gone along the fascia.
- Paint has a mold issue on the rear hatch. This is from the car sitting since my friend rarely drove it, other then to start it for a little bit every few weeks. I have a few quotes from some paint guys local and the good news is that it only needs a good buffing and the mold should come out and the paint should look new again. The estimated cost for this is around $50. (Cheap I know!)
- It was keyed at some point. I have bought some paint matched touch up paint and have touched up the key marks. It came out nice and is only noticeable if you are really looking for it and have to be within a few feet to notice.
- Small gas smell while running, probably a small leak somewhere.
- Small clutch vaccum leak. The clutch hisses when shifting. Barely noticeable, and easily fixed.
- Antenna is bent. I might replace this with my current Z's since I don't use mine.
- Small tear in the drivers seat. Should be able to be fixed for rather cheap, I was told by a friend.
That's all the bad I can think of right now, not much huh?
The
GOOD!
- Only 117,000~ miles. That's an average 6500 miles per year.. It wasn't my friends Daily Driver either.. He had a geo metro as his DD so he could save gas costs.
-Interior is otherwise immaculate. The carpets look like they came from the show room. The dash is perfect and not heat rippled like a lot of Z's.
- It has a good sound system.. It has very nicely installed door tweeters that sound excellent and look stock. I almost considered taking these for my Z!! It has an IPod hookup that leads to the arm rest for easy removal. I have the same head unit in my Z and it works AMAZING. Flipping through 5,000 songs and having instant access to what YOU want to listen to is AWESOME!
- The paint is in otherwise great condition for it being 18 years old and I would say there is no need to repaint it, unless you are an absolute perfectionist. If I kept this Z, I personally would not repaint it.
- It starts up immediately. No hesitation at all and idles great. Turbos seem to boost good also. My friend said that a potential buyer took it to a mechanic (before I snatched it from that buyer muhahaha) and the mechanic said the turbos were in good condition and the compression was good. I do know the timing belt was changed about 9k miles ago, so that is a 1k+ job you don't have to worry about. I have receipts for this job. I don't forsee any real issues with the engine as I would say it runs very well. The car was quite reliable the entire time my friend had it.
- I don't have all the receipts, but I do have a few that show some major clutch work being done (Clutch engages perfect and is practically new).
- All work was done by Delegance Automotive, a respected Z Specialty shop here in Largo Florida, off of Ulmerton Road. I have their business card and highly suggest them, they did all the work on this Z and my other TTZ. Mechanic's name is Ralph.
- TTops don't leak like most cars this age.
- I refurbished all moldings as they were looking a little dated and dried. It came out rather great. And they look practically brand new.
- Car has dark tint, which was put on the last few years so it's not faded. I am not sure what the % is though, but it is dark and looks great.
- Z sits on a nice set of wheels. Slight curb damage but nothing serious. Wheels have a lug lock on them to prevent anyone stealing them.
- Never wrecked. Clean title.
- I have a few free air filters for you to install.
- Engine is quite clean. All connectors look in great condition.
- Tires seem to be in decent condition. He had a flat recently before I bought it from him so one of them is near new condition.
The Ugly
- Nothing, car is in great condition, especially considering it's 18 years old!
Engine Modifications
- Nothing. Like I stated, car is grade A meat, never touched/abused/molested. 100% STOCK. I don't think I have ever seen another Z in Tampa that was completely stock and untouched.
The Pictures:
I am writing this from work. I will be updating this with pictures tomorrow.
**Actually just found a few online**
A better photoshoot to come in the next day or two. I am free whenever to call. Be sure to leave a message if I don't pick up! Leave contact info and name and why you are calling please. I will be available later this week to show the car to all potential buyers.
Jump on this fellas. Not many Z's out there that haven't been used and abused by 16 year old kids.
Price: $7,500 obo
