700 is a stretch.. VQ pistons have very shallow skirts for emission reasons.. which makes them frail...

The other shitter.. is that it is still an open deck... No matter which way you slice it.. open deck cylinders will vibrate.. and will eventually lead to failure at good power levels...

New VQ's supposedly have much stronger sleeves as well. Same shop is building up a stroked up motor on stock sleeves and shooting for 1000whp. We will see how that goes. Lots of engines need to be sleeved past a certain point.
