no air resistance = no transients and very bad sounding music. especially with a low power amp.

thats why ported boxes "unload" at frequencies below their tune point - the air isnt moving fast enough to produce any back pressure on the subwoofer.
You didn't anwser my question, you just explained how a sub works and explained a little bit about ported boxes.
