It could be that your thermostat is stuck closed. If the the thermostat don't open the hot coolant cant touch the fan switch(sensor) causing it to turn the fan on. Change your thermostat and I'd bet everything works again. aLSO, The ecu and the gauge coolant temp sensors have NOTHING to do with the fan turning on.
