What I've learned about ABS (at least GM's iteration of it) is that it sucks.

On my S10, the brakes will still lock up, just momentarily. It could still get you in trouble.

The biggest thing I hate about ABS is that in certain situations, ABS actually increases stopping distance. There are many times where I'm stopping fine, but I'll run across a paint stripe or grease spot, and the truck starts bouncing around and the steering wheel is shaking like crazy and the truck just keeps on cruising.

For me, I can do without it quite nicely.
