The only time I wear shoes while driving is when I'm racing, and only because they require it. Actually, I usually don't wear shoes at the drag strip. The only time I got caught was when I got out of my car to talk to a track official with my sandals on, which didn't go over very well. They check up on this stuff a lot better at autocrosses and road courses, so I'm forced to wear my CostCo sneakers- a real bummer because my footwork suffers greatly with those big ole' clodhoppers on.
