wrong.....the point of vtec is BROAD power. remember honda motors were not designed for drag racing, they were circtuit motors that needed broad power bands and longevity. hence vtec. the larger cam lobe will not make the low end power of the smaller one in situations where low revs on the track are necessary. the corssover is hondas way of gaining an advantage on long straighs and stuff like that where other cars might begin to pull away without the use of the bigger cam lobe.

the small cam may be a good dd cam for sure, but i dont think honda meant it that way. the vtec killer kits are mainly a drag race thing. anyone who were to run this o the road course would end up with slower times around the track.
