Also if you have the tranny off it might be a good idea to take the end cover off and tighten up the bolt on the end of the 5th gear, This might tighten up some of the play in the shifter. use RTV when re-assembling.[IMG

That is very good advice. Make sure to re set the part that locks the nut on there (you can see the notched area on the nut circled in red) I learned it the hard way. I was driving my car and noticed that my shifter would move when I would take my foot off of the gas pedal. When I got home (about 25 miles later) I noticed a funny smell. I walked around the back of my car and noticed all $40 worth of my 500mile-old Royal Purple Synchromax sitting under my car.
The nut backed off and cracked that end cover (which can be a difficult part to find) and it chewed up my 5th gear synchro.
