• Maintain the same safe stopping distance from the vehicle ahead as with conventional brakes. ABS will not make the vehicle "stop on a dime."

Many people believe ABS allows them to stop quicker than non-ABS. It does not, or at least not by any significant measure. All ABS does is allow you to slam on the brakes while turning the wheels without spinning out.
So don't go driving like an idiot just because you have a nanny like ABS.
