I have an 04 rx8 and I absolutely love the car. Look at who 99% of the haters are... NON OWNERS...There were plenty of issues, espessialy with the older model ones (04-05) which have almost 99% been fixed. Mines an 04 and I am on my 2nd engine, Havent had a SINGLE issue with the car after though. It just lost power, had it towed in (on mazdas bill) and was given a rental untill the car was ready, not a single fuss. I will say that with there issues, mazda has handled them EXTREAMLY well. They also just increased the motors warranty to 10 year or 100k miles (powertrain is 6 years 60k miles). All in all, you will love the car. The 240 hp is plenty for what it does. Sure its not the fastest but it will get out of its way and its enough to be fun to drive. The handling is just utterly amazing to say the least

also as far as the inside is concerned. Its plenty of space. I dont really like people in my back seats but if I have to, people do fit better then it may seem.
Honestly, the rx8's that seem to last the longest are ones that get the piss beat out of them.. Every person I talk to that babies there cars are the ones that have had issues. The peole constantly out racing or just beating the hell out of it never have any issues. According to most one of the main issues for failing motors are the carbon build up.
