sold a parts car on craigslist a while back, the buyer wanted to make payments with 100 down. i said ok you can have the car and title when you pay it all off had a lawyer friend make up a quick contract (said he misses 2 weeks of payments i keep car and cash), the guy was happy with that, 500 down then paid me 100 bucks a week for 11 weeks his 'friend' payed him back and he brought me 600 cash on the 12th week and asked if i would mind him paying it off early. he's fixed it up and drives it around tampa now
