clutch issue
We have this 96/97 eclipse at the shop that im doing a clutch swap on. Its a little confusing with it. According to the sticker is a 2.4. But the valve cover says 2.0, but its the "Dodge" 2.0 DOHC. It looks like the motor has been replaced along with the trans itself. The clutch wasnt working when this person bought the car. I got it all apart and noticed the throw out bearing had really small plastic tabs to hold it onto the fork, but one of the tabs was broken. Looking at the fork more, it looks like this trans takes a different style bearing or its missing something. It has the clutch style where its assembled together and it bolts to a normal flex plate. I dont think this motor is a 2.0 DOHC. We picked up a rear main seal for 2.0 and its a bit smaller than the rear main seal on the motor. We tried a few different kits at the parts store, different motors, different years. More or less lost with the throwout bearing.
Anyone have any insight?
