next year they are reintroducing slick tires. they are also significantly cutting down force which should reduce the cars wake and make it easier for the cars to follow each other closely through corners. they are also introducing a kinetic energy recovery system next year which will give the cars an extra power boost on demand.


I doubt "McLaren" will supply the engines (because they don't make engines they're made by Mercedes). If a spec engine ends up getting pushed through (and it doesn't kill the series) I would expect it to be made my Cosworth or someone similar. None of the existing manufacturers are going to agree to use an engine made by a (business) competitor. BMW is not going to race with a Mercedes engine in their car. McLaren/Mercedes is not going to race with a Toyota engine in their car, and so on.
